जागतिक रेडक्रॉस दिवस  

8 मे हा दिवस दरवर्षी जागतिक रेडक्रॉस दिवस म्हणून साजरा करण्यात येतो. रेडक्रॉस या आंतरराष्ट्रीय संस्थेचे संस्थापक हेन्री ड्युनान्ट यांच्या वाढदिवसाची आठवण म्हणून हा दिवस साजरा केला जातो.

(English Translate:- 

8 May is celebrated every year as World Red Cross Day. This day is celebrated as the birthday of the founder of Red Cross international organization Henry Dunant.)

का साजरा केला जातो? 

1859 साली इटली आणि फ्रान्सने ऑस्ट्रियाविरुद्ध युद्ध पुकारले होते. या युद्धात अनेक जण जखमी झाले होते. हि परिस्थिती पाहून ड्युनान्ट यांनी स्थानिक लोकांची मदत घेऊन जखमींवर उपचार केले. त्यांनतर 1863 साली सामाजिक र्कायकर्ते एकत्र येऊन पाचजणांची समिती स्थापन केली. या समितीने आंतरराष्ट्रीय रेडक्रॉसची स्थापना केली. 

(English Translate:- Why celebrated? 

Italy and France had invaded war against Austria in 1859. Many people were injured in this war. Seeing this situation, Dunant helped the local people and treated the injured. Subsequently, in 1863 social workers came together and formed a committee of five. This committee established the International Red Cross.)

संस्थेची उद्दीष्टे: 

रेडक्रॉससाठी जागतिक स्तरावर मानवता- संकटात असलेल्या माणसांना सुखी आणि सुरक्षित, आरोग्यदायी आयुष्य लाभावे यासाठी काम करणे.  नि:पक्षपातीपणा- माणसांमध्ये देश, धर्म, जात यावरुन भेद न करता त्यांची मदत करणे.  कोणत्याही वादात न पडता तटस्थ राहून संकटात असलेल्यांची मदत करणे.

(English Translate:- Objectives of the organization.

Red Cross Worldwide Humanity- To work for people who are in trouble, to lead a happy and safe, healthy life. Non-discrimination- Helping people not to distinguish between country, religion, and caste. Helping those who are in trouble, staying neutral while not having any discussion.) 

विशेष 

आज जगातील प्रत्येक देश या आंतरराष्ट्रीय संघटनेशी संलग्न आहेत.

सन्मान म्हणून 1917 साली या आंतरराष्ट्रीय संस्थेला नोबेल पारितोषिक दिले गेले. 

संघटनेचे बोधचिन्ह मानवी अनुकंपेचे प्रतीक म्हणून ओळखले जाते.
